Nelson Hockey Association expands to Piney Orchard

Nelson Burton and the Nelson Hockey Association are proud to announce an expansion of operations to the Piney Orchard Ice Arena in Odenton, MD.

Nelson Hockey’s Metro Maple Leafs will practice and play games at both The Garden’s Ice House in Laurel, MD and at Piney Orchard.

“The fundamental commitment of the Nelson Hockey Association is to provide a high-quality experience for youth hockey players in the greater Washington, DC-Baltimore region. Our expansion to Piney Orchard allows us to reach a larger segment of the community,” said Mr. Burton, President of the Nelson Hockey Association and former NHL player.  “We welcome youth players at all skill levels - beginners through AA. The larger membership pool enables us to form teams to match players with similar skills and abilities at each level.”

Darlene Saunders, Nelson Hockey’s new girl’s hockey coordinator and former   President of the Chesapeake Chiefs, said, “Our club is in full support of Nelson Hockey. I encourage our players and their families to tryout for Metro teams and work together to support this exciting opportunity.”

Tryouts will be held April 26. For more information visit the Nelson Hockey website –
